Members – WooCommerce Integration

WooCommerce has always been one of the most-requested integrations with my Members plugin. While they work together out of the box, the user interface could use a lot of improvement.

Thus, the idea for the Members – WooCommerce Integration add-on was born.

This was technically the first integration I started work on, but it’s the fourth release. I’m glad I got off-track and working on other integrations in the meantime. It allowed me to get a bigger picture of how all of these integrations should work and made the overall code better.

So, let’s just dive right on into what this plugin does.

On the edit/new role screen of Members, there’s now a single “WooCommerce” tab (capability group). What this tab does is combine all of WooCommerce’s product, order, coupon, and custom capabilities into one place. This makes sure that you’re not jumping around, from tab to tab, looking for the right capability to grant a role. Having them all together means you can simply scan a single list to find what you’re looking for.

On the Users > Roles screen in the admin, you’ll get a new “WooCommerce” role group. This particular group will list any custom role that WooCommerce creates (like the customer role) as well as any custom roles that you’ve created with WooCommerce-related capabilities. This allows you to always know which roles have permission to interact with your WooCommerce-powered shop without diving into the role editor for individual roles.

I’m still hard at work on getting version 3.0 of the Members plugin ready to go. The above screenshot showcases what the WooCommerce capabilities will look like in the upcoming role editor. I’ve already added in capability descriptions. So, whenever Members 3.0 is launched, this particular add-on will already be compatible.

Get Members – WooCommerce Integration

If you’re already a Members Pro or All-Access (premium) member, you can grab a copy of the plugin from your account page.

If you’re not currently a member, drop by the plugin page and purchase membership. It includes access to all Members add-ons and support for one year.

More integrations to come

Thus far, I’ve released 4 integration add-ons:

I have others in mind, but I’d love to hear your feedback. The currently-planned integrations are:

  • Meta Box
  • bbPress
